Winter sports round-up

The winter sports season at Roselle Park High School was highlighted by the school’s wrestling team, which finished with a record of 24-2 and won the North 2, Group 1 Sectional State Championship over Bound Brook, 58-12.

The junior varsity wrestling team finished the season with an impression 7-1 record. And it looks like the talent will keep coming up since the Middle School wrapped up an undefeated 10-0 campaign.

The boys’ varsity basketball team fought to a winning record of 14-3 and a spot in the North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 playoffs. Kevin Cadet finished with 24 points in a loss to American History.

Junior varsity boys’ basketball went 4-8. The Middle School squad went over .500 with a record of 8-6.

The girls’ varsity basketball squad finished 10-14 and earned a trip to the North Jersey Section 2, Group 1 playoffs. Junior varsity had 4 wins and 10 losses. The Middle School team had a nice 9-4 season.

Varsity bowlers had a 5-12 season, and the junior varsity finished with an even eight wins and losses.
